Company Profile

Home Buyers Inspection service was founded in 1972, by Norm Martinov. When Mr.Martinov started the business he wanted to provide a service to protect home buyers. At that time it was "caveat emptor" Latin for buyer beware. Most buyers relied on the seller to warn them of problems.

Back then savvy buyers would bring an uncle or friend to have a look around. This type of inspection was only good for very obvious problems.

Home Buyers Inspection Service began after a niece requested that her Uncle Norm, who was a city inspector for the largest municipality in Southern California to inspector a house she was in escrow with. This wasn't the first time he had been approached by friends for an inspection that the buyers could trust.

Ever since Home Buyers Inspection Service has worked for the clients not the deal. Inspectors communicate with their clients first. This gives the client the information they need to make good decisions about the physical condition of the home they are investigating.

What is a Home Inspection?

A standard home inspection is a visual examination of the physical structure and major interior systems of a single family residential building. An inspection can be likened to a physical exam by a physician; however, it should be clearly understood that a home inspection is not to be confused with an appraisal, a building code inspection, a guarantee of any kind, and/or an insurance policy on the condition of the property.

During an inspection, the inspector will review the readily accessible exposed portions of the structure of the home, including the roof, the attic, walls, ceilings, floors, windows, doors, basement, and foundation as well as the heating/air conditioning systems, interior plumbing and electrical systems for potential problems. Pools, spa's and tennis courts can be included upon request.

Home inspections are not intended to point out every small problem or any invisible or latent defect in a home. Most minor or cosmetic flaws, for example, should be apparent to the buyer without the aid of a professional.

We are experienced and professional inspectors with I.C.C. certification (publishers of the building codes).

"The inspector was very professional and thorough while inspecting my future house," said Ivy L.
